Is Jungian Coaching Therapy?

"A solitary is cooking up healing potions... He greats the stars and touches the earth."

The term psychotherapy derives from two Greek terms: psyche, meaning "spirit or soul," and therapia, meaning "to tend, care for, or heal." It is in this original sense of the word that Jungian Coaching operates - tending to and caring for the spirit and soul. The ultimate aim of Jungian psychology is the integration of the unconscious power within us, and the fulfillment of our soul’s purpose. That is the aim of Jungian Coaching too.

Although his work was foundational to the modern practice of psychotherapy, the real value of Jung's work far transcends the treatment of mental illness. While symptoms of psychological illness or dis-ease may be diminished by the Jungian Coaching process, a Jungian Coach does not diagnose or treat mental illness.
